The current economic acceptable to be unhealthy, now climate is such that the funding environment for the arts smoking is so uncool – its passé remains less than benign. Whilst that has been the case, the Trustees are – fantastic I say! proud of the successes of the Foundation in the past year. Significant progress has been made in acquiring the support of key strategic Mika partners and securing additional partnership agreements with both funding bodies and commercial sponsors. This success can of course be attributed to the indefatigable work of Mika. His work is of course characterised by strong belief in the Foundation’s core values and kaupapa. The Foundation is in a healthy financial position and we look forward to strengthening that position in the new year. The year ahead offers the opportunity to consolidate our activities and expand our existing services. Part of this development will be achieved with outcomes from our Emerging Leaders Program and our feature productions. We particularly look forward to the opportunities provided by the Rugby World Cup to advance the Foundation’s kaupapa. Finally I wish to thank our sponsors, supporters and staff without whom the work of the Foundation would not be possible. Dr. Pare Keiha Mika at Timaru Boys High School Throughout the year the Foundation has built a number of significant relationships. Core to the Mika Haka Foundation’s work is the support received via contracts and sponsors.
