Hardly anyone has questioned the impulse to do everything to save people from dying, even when it brings a severe economic cost. Many of us may also have also found we have space to look afresh at our lives, our relationships and our world. If keeping people from dying is so important, then knowing what our lives are for and how they can best be lived must be equally important. Maybe those who have been risking their all for others are also those who have been showing us what life in all its fullness really looks like. It looks like love. It looks like a love that is stronger than death. It looks like Easter. I have drawn up a timetable with days and times when I will go into each of the six churches in my patch and say Morning Prayer or Evening Prayer. I will be in St Mary’s Cumwhitton on Wednesdays at 9am, in Talkin Church on Tuesdays at 5pm, and in Hayton daily. I want to assure everyone that I will be focussing my prayers especially on the life of our parishes and praying for a blessing on the local community and its people.
