NOTICE OF ELECTION LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL Election of County Councillors for the Electoral Divisions in the Borough of Pendle as listed below Number of County Electoral Divisions Councillors to be elected Brierfield and Nelson West One Nelson East One Pendle Central One Pendle Hill One Pendle Rural Two 1. Nomination Papers Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Deputy Returning Officer Town Hall, Market Street, Nelson, Lancashire, BB9 7LG who will at the request of any elector for a division prepare a nomination paper for signature. 2. Delivery of Nomination Papers Nomination papers must be delivered by hand to the Elections Office, Town Hall, Market Street, Nelson, Lancashire, BB9 7LG on any day after the date of this notice on Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays) but not later than 4 pm on Thursday, 8th April 2021. Please contact Electoral Services on 01282 661919/661662 to make an appointment. 3. Poll If any election is contested a poll will take place on Thursday, 6th May 2021. 4. Registration Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Monday, 19th April 2021. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. 5. Absent Votes New applications to vote by post and amendments or cancellations of existing postal or proxy vote arrangements must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer at the Town Hall, Market Street, Nelson, Lancashire BB9 7LG by 5 pm on Tuesday, 20th April 2021. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Market Street, Nelson, Lancashire, BB9 7LG by 5 pm on Tuesday, 27th April 2021. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Market Street, Nelson, Lancashire, BB9 7LG by 5 pm on Thursday, 6th May 2021. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5 pm on Tuesday, 27th April 2021. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5 pm on Tuesday, 27th April 2021.
