GKIDS Film Distribution Fall 2013 Internships Available GKIDS is a distributor of award-winning filmed entertainment specializing in animation for both adult and family audiences. The company has scored three Best Animated Feature Oscar nominations in the past three years, with The Secret of Kells in 2010 and both A Cat in Paris and Chico & Rita in 2012. GKIDS also handles North American theatrical distribution for Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki's famed Studio Ghibli library of films, one of the world’s most coveted animation collections with titles Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke and others. For more information on our films, please see www.gkids.tv/films GKIDS has three Fall 2013 internship openings in the following areas: • Video Editing Intern – Assist with re-cutting trailers and clips for awards submissions, press and more, as well as testing casting ideas. Must be fluent in Final Cut and a working knowledge of Motion and/or After Effects is a plus. Please include links to samples of your work when applying. • Graphic Design Intern – Assist with film posters, print ads, banners, website, and more. Must have experience working with Photoshop and InDesign. Please submit your portfolio when applying. • Acquisitions/Distribution Intern – will assist with a wide variety of projects related to the film acquisitions, marketing, and distribution fields, including theatrical releases, awards campaigns, and production tasks around dubbing foreign films into English. Specific tasks include theatrical fulfillment, maintaining and improving social media interest, researching and contacting interest groups and affiliate organizations for upcoming releases, and much more. All applicants must be responsible, intelligent, have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong interest in our mission to transform the animation landscape in North America. Interns may choose to work for a stipend OR for school credit.
