4 5 6 7 John Brazendale I was a student studying art at Leeds City College 5 years ago. After leaving college I struggled to find employment, jobs in my area were receiving on average 100-200 applicants and I simply was unable to John Brazendale compete. As I was under the watch of the jobcentre and had to prove I was searching for jobs all hours of the day I had to give up on my art to focus on filling their checklist. I slowly found my feet through politics as a result of organising against the problems surrounding this system, it was through this that I saw how people have created careers for themselves in the graphic design industry and I decided this is something I want to do. I took the initiative to contact my old art tutor to ask about routes into graphic design and applied to study graphic design the following year. I hope to be able to apply my creative skills Joe Hill and the Wobblies - an illustrated storybook to whatever I find myself doing in the future, for the benefit of myself and others. about the life of trade union organiser Joe Hill. 8 9 Word-soup poster: created using the words ‘ear’, ‘end’ and ‘cancel’. My goals for the future? To see my work around in everyday life and maybe help add some colour to people’s lives in ways they may not realize. I think that’s the best thing about art, it can be and grandiose or as subtle as you like and it can still leave an impact. ” 33 This piece of charater artwork on the right was created after viewing white blood plushies Ben Evans Showzine Reel oonline and i thought i could cartoon that so i attempted.
