BUILDING CONSTITUENCIES Faith Hope and Good Mental Health Development Consultant 2017-Present Created and implemented a development plan while streamlining management practices. Univision Chicago Project Manager 2015 Led the Univision effort in convening several teams participating in the Super School Project competition. Assisted teams with resources for their school design proposals. Barkada Circle Relationship Manager 2014 Created and developed relationships with philanthropic community and professional associations to offer learning initiatives for non-profit organizations including staff, board members and volunteers. Clients included early childhood centers, arts organizations and social service agencies. Cedille Records Violin Lullabies CD Launch 2013 Part of a team that created a strategic marketing plan and implemented the campaign for Rachel Barton Pine’s newly released CD. The campaign focused on new and diverse audiences including parents, grandparents and children. University of Chicago Presents Contempo 2012- 2013 Created and implemented strategic plans for developing audiences for new music and jazz performances. The plans included social media platforms, college radio audiences, and ethnic media outlets to reach these groups “new “ to UCP. Asian American Action Fund Operation Tammy Duckworth 2012 Assisted the Field Director to reach and engage Asian-American voters. Coordinated phone banks, field canvasses and public engagement events including a Day of Action and a Candidate Rally. Illinois Labor History Society 2011 Created a social media team while using traditional media marketing campaign methods to launch a centennial commemoration. United Way of Metropolitan Chicago Northwest Suburban 2009-2010 Worked with a team of Development Managers to maintain the agency’s current accounts while developing new donors. Developed several new corporate relationships and renewed many lapsed business accounts. Richard Wooten Aldermanic Campaign 2010 Created a social media team and campaign, which coordinated with the field operation. The candidate placed third in a field of six. American Tango Institute 2006 Created a media marketing campaign for the launch of a studio for a local educational dance organization. The debut received broadcast and publication media coverage. POLITICAL CAMPAIGN EXPERIENCE Organizing For America Congressional Campaign Obama for America Campaign 2012 As a member of volunteer leadership team, ran north suburban phone banks. In addition, led several training sessions for volunteer leaders. Dan Seals Congressional Campaign Field Manager 2006 Set up the field operation in far northern suburbs focused on reaching new households of prospective voters. I oversaw volunteer recruitment and training for the effort. EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE Bucknell University Consultant to Chief Officer of Diversity 2007-2010 Developed and implemented a strategic plan for a highly selective college to enter the Chicago metro market and to offer a model program for high performing and economically disadvantaged high school students. Created a prospect pool of Chicago metropolitan community colleges and high schools for academic program partnership and developed and sustained relationships with local education organizations and social service agencies to include in the program partnership. St. Augustine College Assistant to the President 1990-1994 Managed the Office of the President of a bilingual two-year college supervising a staff of three. Directed external affairs and wrote and edited communications material. Participated in the leadership levels of fundraising and also served as a liaison to the Board of Trustees. University of Hawaii-Manoa Ethnic Studies Program Instructor 1974-1976 Taught in the fledgling program that developed into an academic department. This program created innovations such as student service projects in local communities that aligned with an academic curriculum. Participated in the program leadership committee that established relationships wit the university administration and governed the program. OTHER EXPERIENCE New Trier Democrats Office Manager 2009-2012 Ran the office for Township Democrats including updating and transitioning to electronic office operations, database migration, and public liaison. Cut2Keep Philanthropy Consultant 2010-2011 Coached a small business owner in forming a non-profit organization. WebTrax Collaborative Program Consultant 2010-2011 Designed a planning process for small business owners to create a cooperative. Center for Communication Resources Executive Director 1994-2004 Ran a community-based media arts organization that operated in a Chicago Park District Field House and schools. The organization provided Gallery 37 Summer Programs and year-round educational programs for youth and adults.
