Location of the Project The mine lease area of 60.704 ha (150 acres) is located at Survey No. 69, Malakondapuram Village, Pamuru Mandal, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh. Survey of India topo sheet no. 57 M/2 with the co-ordinates of Latitude 150 07 ’41.91” N, and Longitude 790 37’33.19” E with a highest elevation of 142 m. The nearest village Malakondapuram located at a distance of 1.6 Km from the Mine lease Boundary area in Southeast direction. The nearest town is Kandukur located at a distance of 35 km in Northeast direction. Railway station is Ulavapadu at a distance of 43 kms in northwest direction. Ayyavaripalle to Gunturulinganapalem road is passing at a distance of 0.9 km from the ML area in west direction. The lease area can be accessible through a cart track. There are five reserve forests in the study area of 10 km Radius. Malakonda Reserved forest is at a distance of 0.3 km in southeast direction, Ayyanakota Reserved forest is at a distance of 1.2 km in Northeast direction, Obbulayapalli Reserved forest is at a distance of 2.8 km in North directionPeddairalapadu Reserved forest is at a distance of 3.5 km in North direction and Mogilicherla Reserved forest is at a distance of 6.5 km in south direction. There is no Major water body passing in the study area. There is no national park, wildlife/bird sanctuary, critically polluted area and Interstate boundary within 10km radius from the mine lease areas. 2. Reasons if Category 'B' Project to be considered as Category ‘A’ Project: No. It is ‘A’ category project, the ML area is 60.704 ha (>50 Ha). 3. Details of Mine Plan, Mine Lease with Letter of IBM No. dated... and land use pattern including Forest Land. The proposed project is an old mine conduct opencast method mining for Quartz mine in an area of 60.705 ha (150 acres) in Survey No. 69, Malakondapuram Village, Pamuru Mandal, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh. The mine lease was granted vide G.o.Ms.No.82, Ind & Comm (M.I), department, dt.03.02.2000, to Sri Venkata Krishna Minerals. The mine lease work orders issued by The Assistant Director of Mines and Geology, Prakasam vide proceedings no. 1341/M2/2000 dt.31.07.2000. The Mining plan has been approved by the Deputy Director of Mines and Geology, Government of Andhra Pradesh vide Letter No. 25/M2/MRKP, dt.19.09.2015. The lessee proposes to Quartz production capacity 9705 TPA. Capital cost proposed for the mining will be approximately Rs. 300 Lakhs. There is no forest land involved and the total mine lease area of 121.41ha is government revenue land. 4. Method of Mining and details of letter of intent (LOI)/ The mining operations will be carried out by semi-mechanized open-cast method. Proposed annual production is approximately 9705 tons per annum. Drilling and blasting is required for the excavation of the mineral and to remove the adjacent rock. The drilling will be conducted by using the jack hammer drill machine, dia. of the drill hole is 35mm and depth of the hole is 1.5m, 1m with spacing and 0.75m burden. The height of the bench is maximum 2.5m moving towards East to West directions. The slope of the bench is maintaining about 80°. The blasted material will be loaded into tractors by using JCB machine and transported to the dumping yard. 5. Details of water requirement, waste generation and waste management Water requirement for drinking, maintaining the green belt, wet drilling and also for sprinkling is 5.0 KLD shall be met from ground water through bore wells located in the lease area. Waste water generated from domestic source shall be sent to septic tank followed by soak pit. The waste generated will be dumped and it is proposed to step dumping at the height of about 2m each step and it is compacted by rollers for stabilizing the dump. Retaining wall will be constructed about 1.5m height to prevent wash off the material due to rains. About 3067 cu. m. of soil and schist will be generated in each year. The waste generated will be used for backfilling in the working pits after completion of workings. Top soil generated will be used for green belt development to reclaim the mined out pits. 6. Details of court case/violation There is no court case/litigation pending against the project. 7. Details of Cost of the project and its EMP cost Total cost estimated for the proposed project is Rs. 300 Lakhs and Cost estimated for EMP is Rs. 30 Lakhs. 8. Employment generation The number of employees required for the mining operations with the proposed rate of production will be approximately 61 no’s including mine manager. .
