The depictions of the heroes make their emotions stand out, the depictions of the villains make them frightening, the depictions of Gotham City make it as intimidating as one would hope, and the depictions of more exotic locations add some wonder into the mix. Williams III makes full use of two-page spreads to express what this comic is trying to express. There are pages here where fractured structures and non-traditional layouts tell a story all on their own, adding additional levels to an already solid narrative. Volume No. Release date: She tracks down DC's specialist in mythology, Wonder Woman, and, after a couple of adventures in Greek mythology land, return to Gotham. The ensuing melee, magnificently drawn, involves every character, good, bad, and in-between, that has figured in the first two volumes of Batwoman. The battle ends with Gotham saved, missing children returned, Medusa turned to stone how original and Ceto risen but forgiven and protected by Wonder Woman. Oh, yeah, and Batwoman proposes to her Lesbian lover on the police force. A magnificent adventure of Wonder Woman. However, if you were to ask me what an adventure of Batwoman looked like, I'm not to sure. It is much better than volume 2, which used a split storyline to try and create more suspense than there actually was. Think about it: if Wonder Woman is called on, what kind of adversaries are in town? Watching Batwoman's interaction with Wonder Woman was fun. Both end up a little bit unnerved, but they made a good team. The D. The last few pages are crazy and hint at big problems in volume 4. Covering issues 0, , Wonder Woman joins Batwoman in this third volume of her newly- revamped series and the last book in the story to rescue the kidnapped children from Maro! As Batwoman digs deeper into the mythological quest to find the kids, she finds that she's up against a Greek myth and she needs a Greek demigod to help her! This time, everyone's involved and new menacing monsters are discovered and secrets are out! Firstly, like the other two books, J. Williams III loves to create some really neat splash pages. Although this is a nice hardcover like the other volumes, it's still glued and a lot of the spreads are lost in the gutter of the book. But this one was excellent. Writing and art were both pretty amazing. And there was a lot of both in this book. There was a lot of exposition. But I was so into, I didn't care. Several pages have narration that's separate from the art - but the art tells a story by itself. It's really creative and wel I really enjoyed this comic. It's really creative and well-done. The etiology of Batwoman was fascinating. A bit dark and psycho, but what vigilante's isn't? And the mix of Gotham City and urban legend, and then Greek myth on top of it? It could have been a mess if it hadn't been handled well. But it was. I'm really enjoying this series and J. Williams' writing. I was disappointed to hear he just got off the series. Batwoman seems to be making good on the promise of the first volume, in spite of the mediocre volume two. Art is back up to lavish standards, even carrying stylistic differences between main characters. Story is good too, with a continuation on previous events but including a team-up with Wonder Woman which considering the story is logical rather than forced. Characterizations are well done, with people's thoughts and actions seeming much more grounded than many other New 52 titles. Not sure i Batwoman seems to be making good on the promise of the first volume, in spite of the mediocre volume two. Not sure if that is influenced by Batwoman's title not really interacting with the mainstream DC world, but I would think so. Future volumes fill me with trepidation, as this creative team doesn't seem like it will get its chance to really hit its rhythm. I hope Batwoman and Wonder Woman will team up again. Glad that they found the kids. Where do I even begin? Oh I know! How about the coolest superhero in the entire fucking universe? Williams is back in this volume and he has given us the most endearing and the most charismatic version of Batwoman yet. Kate Kane is a vision to behold. There was an enormous increase in the use of narrative boxes in this Volume compared to the previous ones and the writing is beautiful. It seemed impossible but Kate was given even more depth and complexity as a character. Her fears, her strained relationship with her father, her self-doubts, her growing love for her girlfriend and finally her unrelenting courage. Because beyond anything Kate Kane is a soldier. And Batwoman is a soldier. Batwoman: Its easy to say that I left as Kate and came back as Batwoman. The truth though, is that I left as your lost little girl and came back knowing exactly who I am. I came back as Kate Kane. The inclusion of Wonder Woman could have taken away the spotlight from Batwoman herself, but it actually does the opposite. No matter how tough and brilliant Kate is, she is ultimately a human, whereas Diana as a Demi-God is beyond the comprehension of mere mortals. Wonder Woman's narrative is just as stunning as Batwoman's and creates a very clear picture for the readers about the inherent differences they share as human and half-god. Wonder Woman: I wonder what Batwoman thinks when she looks at me. Does she see a goddess wrapped in her own nation's flag? Does she a warrior? A hero? And what do I see when I look at her? A tormented woman who clocks herself in the colors of war and death? One of Batman's devoted soldiers? A Fury willing to travel to the ends of the earth in search of justice and revenge? A mere mortal? I see them all.
