The Clan Campbell Education Foundation The Clan Campbell Education Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit, tax-exempt, charitable and educational Foundation founded by and closely aligned with the Clan Campbell Society (NA). The purpose of the CCEF is to educate the public regarding the Clan Campbell, Scots, and Scotland. In particular, we promote the study and perpetuation of Scottish culture and its influence in America including history, art, music, dance, athletics, language, and cuisine, and conduct charitable and educational programs. The CCEF was established in 1992 as a California corporation and has received 501(c)(3) approval as a tax-exempt charitable corporation from the Internal Revenue Service and from the tax authorities in California. The Foundation was formed by members of the CCS(NA) Board of Directors to provide a vehicle for accomplishing the purposes set forth above. The Foundation has undertaken numerous projects since its formation. Chief among these was the commissioning and publication of a three-volume History of the Clan Campbell written by noted historian Alastair Lorne Campbell of Airds, Unicorn Pursuivant, and former Archivist at Inveraray Castle. The History paints a vivid picture of life in the Western Highlands and describes how our heritage was very much a part of the history of Scotland. The second major project was a series of four video productions designed to open the door to the Clan Campbell and Campbell sept heritage. This digital video/disc series describes the origins and early evolution of Clan Campbell in Scotland. The introductory overview of the series is titled Campbell Country (in a two-disc DVD format only) and includes a look at the earlier styles of life of Campbells from cottage to castle. This is followed by taking a closer look at the leading Campbell families and their ancient homes and lands and is in three parts (in VHS format only), entitled Growth of a Highland Clan, the Campbell Phenomenon - Parts I, II, and III. The CCEF also has an ongoing Scholarship Program. To date (2007), the Foundation has provided $6000 in scholarship grants to deserving students who have demonstrated their love of Scotland and their Scottish heritage. Additionally, the CCEF has donated funds to numerous worthy projects such as trophies at games, equipment for pipe bands, etc. Future projects include the commissioning of a children’s picture book (4 - 8 year olds), a history oriented to the young adult, coloring book based on Scottish themes for the tots, a new pipe march and country dance for the Clan Campbell, the production of a CD featuring music associated with the Clan Campbell, and the production of a series of videos to accompany the three-volume History. All of this takes funding and you can help. Send your contribution to Nancy E. Campbell, Esq., FSA Scot, President, CCEF, 1128 Brians Way, Wayne, PA, 19087 USA.
