Migrating Saunders & Associates Applications from Windows XP to Windows 10 Files are stored in a different folder on Windows XP and Windows 10. When upgrading to Windows 10, it may be necessary to copy data files, application setting files, or INI files from the Windows XP computer to the Windows 10 computer after the initial installation has been performed. This document will generically show the different folders used on each operating system. The specific folders for the 250B are shown to provide more clarity. Saunders & Associates file locations on Windows XP All files were stored in the folder “C:\Program Files\Saunders & Associates” and its subfolders. Saunders & Associates file locations on Windows 10 The application EXE files are stored in the folder “C:\Program Files (x86)\Saunders & Associates” and its subfolders. The data files are stored in the folder “C:\ProgramData\Saunders & Associates” and its subfolders. NOTE: The structure of the folders has not changed. If a file was stored in the subfolder “250B\Data” on Windows XP, it will be stored in the subfolder “250B\Data” on Windows 10. File migration 1. On the Windows XP system, from the “C:\Program Files” folder, copy the folder “Saunders & Associates” to a removable drive. This will also copy all of its subfolders. 2. On the removable drive, delete any EXE files from the “Saunders & Associates” folder and any of its subfolders. 3. Install the Windows 10 version of the Saunders & Associates application on the Windows 10 system. 4. Copy the files in the “Saunders & Associates” folder on the removable drive to the folder “C:\ProgramData” on the Windows 10 system.
