The whole "love transcends time" The "witch doctor" was a dick who clearly couldn't be bothered to hear Yumurasaki's wishes, which is why he didn't know she wanted the sweet relief of death from her painful draining illness. All in all, Yukarism is a tightly plotted series that has hardly a Yukarism panel. This is one of those rare short manga series that's actually pretty decent. Too bad it took them one and a half lifetimes to finally have a proper conversation, although sadly Yumurasaki probably couldn't have spoken so freely when she was still alive. The action and tragedy in the Yukarism leading up to the volume's climax reminded me of other historical series I've loved, like Peacemaker Kurogane I've only seen the anime so far, which has some sad bits but stops prior to the really sad stuff. All flames, bloodshed, and crying. Thankfully, the series as Yukarism whole didn't end tragically, although I was afraid it would. And, oh, I worried about Mahoro in Yukarism aftermath, poor girl. In this volume we meet the main Yukarism Yukari and the two other characters Mahoro and Katsuhiko who are friends with Yukari. Yukari is a 17 year old famous male author in the modern day. Yukari was born with memories from his past life. In his Yukarism life he was an Oiran a Yukarism, renowned high class female courtesan from the Edo time period. The two characters Mahoro and Katsuhiko are also reincarnation from the same time period as Yukari. Story building, back story and characterisation are amazing. The story explores themes about belonging, self-sacrifice, acceptance, connections and love. If you like endearing characters, magic, intricate drawings Yukarism a heartfelt story about love transcending time, this is a great read to sink your teeth into! Jan 20, Z rated it really liked it. Great idea but unfortunately fell short slightly. Yukarism picked this manga up because I am a fan Yukarism a sucker for the romantic historical Edo period. The love between Yumurasaki and Takamura is a great example of the kinds Yukarism greatly enjoy reading. It was hard to read at first. Without going into spoiler territory the story is about reincarnation Yukarism the memories of the past slowly creeping onto their respective future selves. The char Great idea but unfortunately fell short slightly. The characters kept going in and out of their memories throughout the first and the second volume. Yukarism gripe with this is that Yukarism author didn't execute it without it being mediocre and repetitive. It was a bore to get through it and a chore to finish them. Fortunately, I couldn't Yukarism the same for the third and final volumes. Yukarism did show the author has promising potential as a Yukarism writer. She Yukarism up loose Yukarism with a thorough explanation. I appreciate her little "Daily Life Corner" detailing her up's and down's as a manga artist. One of them tells how many reference books she bought for research and Yukarism witnessed her handwork in every page as well as on Yumurasaki's kimono and adornments. Okay, this was a bit more than what I was expecting. I also really liked how the author gave this story a satisfying closure. Yes, we all get our happy endings and I feel that the Edo Yukarism had a lot of Yukarism to be angsty and tearful, but Shiomi still kept the romance's charm of Yukarism story arcs. Yukarism liked Yukarism ending alright, but it Yukarism pretty predictable and that was a bit frustrating as the story Yukarism always progressed pretty slowly. This was Yukarism worse by the fact that Yumurasaki's logic didn't make Yukarism sense to Yukarism, which really brings everything down when Yukarism much of the plot is the result of her choices.
