The event is the second largest gathering related to tourism in Kerala and entry to the festival is by prior registration. One of the key attractions of Splash is the Business to Business(B2B) meetings that is a platform for over 400 travel agents to participate and interact with property owners in Wayanad. The meet has been attracting Hotels, Ayurvedic and Plantation Resorts, Homestays, Tour Operators and Medical Tourism. The first carnival was held in 2009 that progressed during later years to a serious get-together of tourism writers, travelers and entrepreneurs who exchange ideas on nature and tourism. Pre-monsoon carnivals, exhibition-cum- cultural extravaganzas have ruled previous editions of the festival. The carnival grabbed wide media attention with a variety of exciting programmes like mud football, competition in indigenous farming like planting of paddy and fun-filled events like climbing the slippery tree and catching crabs apart from a fusion of traditional art forms. Various outdoor sports events such as mud football, Cultural Programs archery and tug of war competitions were held during Sponsored Programs previous editions of the festival. This also included Mud Football adventure events like off-road jeep racing, zip lining, rafting Destination Visit and elephant raid. Innovative programmes to showcase and Meals experience the rustic life of tribesmen and villages in the district are organized. Cultural programs, organized destination and property visits are also part of the festival. .
