Miles LD SEAWOR SOUTH HOTEL CIRCLE SuperLoop service a success Old Town Transit Center Interim service for the SuperLoop, a local circulator transit service serving the North July 2009 University City community, began in June 2009. Early ridership numbers have exceeded Mid-Coast Corridor Map expectations. Daily weekday ridership is currently averaging more than 2,000 passengers. (View Larger Map) Ridership increased significantly when students at UCSD returned for the fall semester, with What is the Mid-Coast a one-day high of 4,111 passengers. The SuperLoop is designed for frequent service and Corridor Transit Project? quick trip times - improvements such as signal priority, queue jumper lanes and special road markers ensure that SuperLoop vehicles move smoothly through traffic. In 2010, SuperLoop The Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project service will expand from the current 9 stations to include 15 stations. The SuperLoop will will extend transit service from the connect to the future Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project and will help link residents and Old Town Transit Center north to the workers in the community to the regional transit system. University City community, serving major destinations including Westfield Happenings in the Mid-Coast Corridor: UCSD Expansion UTC, UCSD, and downtown San Diego. As one of the key destinations in the Mid-Coast Corridor, providing additional connections to and from UCSD to the regional transit system via the Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project is a high priority. UCSD currently has more than 29,000 students and continues to be in high demand. The university is continuing to grow and evolve. Twelve capital improvement projects are currently or will soon be in construction, and another 11 projects are in the planning and design phase for future development. These projects will serve UCSD’s growing needs for student housing and instructional space, and ensure that the university stays on the cutting edge of graduate and undergraduate education, patient care, and scientific research. .
