P.O. Box 40431 Olympia, WA 98504-0431 Phone: (360) 786-7660 Email: [email protected] Cell Phone: (253) 680-9545 Dear Friends, Will Rogers advised we should “be thankful we’re not getting all the government we’re paying for.” I can’t disagree with that. Nevertheless, the government we do have should be here to listen and to serve you. With that spirit, it is my pleasure to present my 2017 District Guide to Elected Officials. If there is one thing I have learned from serving in Olympia, it is that politicians need to hear from taxpayers. One of my first acts as senator was to propose an amendment to the state constitution to ban an income tax. Unfortunately, too many of my colleagues across the aisle were determined to keep the option open. As long as I am your state senator, I will fight any income tax, period. There is no end to the “good things” government thinks it can do for you with your own money. I trust you to make the best decisions with it. Protecting our First and Second Amendment freedoms is vital to our way of life and form of government. I co-sponsored a constitutional amendment to guarantee the right to fish and hunt. Please contact my office or me if you have a question or a concern about a state agency or legislative action. You are always welcome to phone me directly on my cell, 253-680-9545. You and your families are important to me. I am honored to serve you.
