Box No. 626 Shatin Central Post Office Fax : 2947 7001 Web Site : www.chkri.hk 26th September 2018 Technical Visit – Hin Keng Station Date: 13 October 2018 (Saturday) Time: 09:30 - 12:00 noon Venue: SCL Hin Keng Station CHKRI will organize a visit to the works site of Hin Keng Station of the Shatin to Central Link (SCL). In this visit, you will have the chance to appreciate the various features of this new SCL station in particular its architectural and environmental design blending with the community. The SCL will connect several existing railway lines. Tai Wai to Hung Hom Section will connect the West Rail Line and Ma On Shan Line to form Tuen Ma Line, while Hung Hom to Admiralty Section will extend the existing East Rail Line from Hung Hom across the harbour to Hong Kong Island. The SCL will have 10 stations. Six will be interchange stations where passengers can conveniently change to other railway lines. Since the commencement of further planning and design in 2008, the Government established that the addition of Hin Keng Station will relieve congestion at Tai Wai Station and recognized the need of railway service for the residents of Hin Keng area. Hin Keng Station is therefore added to the project. Hin Keng Station will be an elevated station situated to the southwest of the former Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department New Territories South Animal Management Centre, the former Shatin Plant Quarantine Station and Hin Tin Playground. Attendees shall wear their own PPE including helmets, reflective vest and safety shoes during the visit . The maximum number of participants for this visit is 25. In the event of over-subscription, a ballot will be held. Paid-up members will be given the first priority to participate the visit and eligible for attendance certificate.
