The Township continues to collaborate with Duquesne Light to improve the streetlights in the Township. Duquesne Light offers a program in which they will switch out inefficient HPS (high-pressure sodium) streetlights with more efficient and brighter LED streetlights. This program requires these lights to be in a contiguous location, allows for the replacement of a minimum of 10 lights per year and offers the ability to add more if available. While there is an initial cost for each light switchover, ulti- mately the cost savings will be realized in the electricity saved and less required maintenance. With this program, we are work- ing from the outside borders of the Township into the center.
