Our studies look at a variety of factors that affect quality of life for people dealing with the effects of these conditions. The Multiple Sclerosis goal of our research is to improve quality of life and at Kessler Foundation care for individuals with these conditions. Scientists in Neuropsychology & Neuroscience Research have made important contributions to understanding n how to prevent cognitive decline in MS. Our clinical studies span new learning, memory, executive function, attention and processing speed, and factors related to employment. People with MS may have difficulties with thinking, learning, and memory – cognitive functions. Executive functions may also be affected, such as performing tasks in a sequence and problem solving. Individuals may have an increased feeling of apathy, in which they lack the desire to start a task. They may tire quickly when performing thinking tasks—known as cognitive fatigue.
