EOGHAN MURPHY grew up on Sandymount Green and went to school in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea BNS and St. Michael’s College, and to University College Dublin. He has worked in international arms control in London, Geneva and Vienna. A consultant on nuclear weapon disarmament, he was until recently a speechwriter for a United Nations-affi liated agency in Vienna, but resigned in order to dedicate himself to politics in Dublin.
