Contact: Liane Hu Okumura, APR Olomana Loomis ISC Cell: 808.721.5837 [email protected] ​ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Popeyes Hawaii Vice President of Operations Chris Lee Selected for Omidyar Fellows Cohort VI HONOLULU (June 18, 2018) – Chris Lee, vice president of operations for Popeyes Hawaii, has been selected as one of 15 members of the sixth cohort of Omidyar Fellows, a societal change program that equips emerging leaders with the skills and cross-sector relationships necessary to collectively affect societal change. “Being part of the Omidyar Fellows is the opportunity of a lifetime to learn among leaders and collectively envision a better society,” said Lee. “It is an honor to be part of this prestigious program and to be able to give back to the community personally and professionally. The Omidyar Fellows program brings together diverse thought leaders willing to collaborate on solutions, and Hawaii’s future is bright with many hands working together for the greater good.” Lee and the other Fellows were selected based on their accomplishments and their motivation and ability to make transformative change happen in Hawaii. Lee joined Popeyes Hawaii as vice president of operations in October 2016 and oversees all six Popeyes Hawaii locations in Kalihi, Salt Lake, Waipahu, Mililani, Kapahulu and Pearl City. Prior to joining Popeyes, he oversaw the opening of ChefZone as the division general manager for Y. Hata & Co., Limited, served as the regional director of operations for Pacific Links Hawaii, and was the director of restaurants at the Conrad Tokyo hotel and the W Hotel Seattle. Lee is highly active in the community and is a trustee of the Pacific Buddhist Academy, a board member for the Kapolei Chamber of Commerce and the Hawaii Restaurant Association, past president of the West Oahu Economic Development Association, and a co-founder of the Pacific Links Hawaii Foundation. He is a graduate of the University of Washington and ‘Iolani School. The Omidyar Fellows Cohort VI commences in October 2018 with 15 months of structured curriculum, which includes one full-day session each month; executive coaching; conversations with community, business and government leaders; and more. After the curriculum portion concludes, the Cohort becomes fully engaged in the Forum of Fellows, an active network of 70 cross-sector leaders and changemakers, all of whom are dedicated to making positive movement on Hawaii’s most pressing issues.
