INTRODUCTION 1.1. Background of project M/s Puravankara Limited has constructed 990 Residential apartments by name “Cosmo City” located at Survey Nos:53/3,53/4,53/10B,55,56/1,57/2 & 57/4, Pudupakkam Village Chengalpattu Taluk, Kancheepuram District, Tamilnadu an expansion to 1184 apartment (Ref: SEIAA/TN/EC/8(a)/006/F-20/2008 dated 24.07.2008). The total Plot area of the Residential apartment Project is 1,27,570.85 Sq.m & the Built up area for expansion is 87,019.40 Sq.m. The total built up area for 2174 apartments (1184 + 990) after expansion is 1,91,215 Sq.m.The building is designed by Renowned Architects and the structure is designed to Seismic Zone specifications-One level higher than mandatory requirement by the government NFPA Compliant Building. Ample parking space has been planned. Water Supply from CMWSSB & sewage treatment plants to keep the environment free from pollution & also rain water harvesting is taken care. Total power requirement is taken care by means of TNEB & the building shall have power backup. Since the project is construction of buildings, it requires Environmental Clearance from State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) under sector 8(b) of EIA Notification 2006. As Puravankara have started the construction without obtaining prior EC, the file has been delisted by SEIAA and project is pending for want of Environmental Clearance. In order to obtain EC from MoEFCC we are applying to EAC, MoEFCC to get EC as per the procedure prescribed in Notification dated 12.03.2017. In this regard, M/s Puravankara Limited has appointed M/s.ABC Techno Labs India Private Limited, Chennai, accredited by National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET) – Quality Council of India (QCI), New Delhi to formulate Environmental Management Plan during Construction & Operational Phases to mitigate any adverse impacts to the Environment.
