Escrupolo conducted Drug Awareness Lecture held at Camp Nikos, Brgy. Ayangan, Sibunag, Guimaras together with the representatives from the Values Formation and Spiritual Transformation Council, Inc. (Western Visayas Chapter). The activity was held to support the Spiritual and Ethical Development Social Awareness and Values Education (SEED-SAVE) Program of the organization. Participants were from the youth sector of the different barangays from the Municipality of Sibunag. Likewise, PDEA Komiks were distributed during the activity. Drug Prevention Education and Info Drive in WV Continues April 14, 2019 at 1:00 PM: Brgy. Piape 1 of Hamtic, Antique participated during the Drug Awareness Symposium spearheaded by PDEA Antique Team. The activity was attended by residents and Barangay Officials of Piape 1, counterparts from the PNP as well as representatives from the MHO and MLGOO. Meanwhile, a day prior, PDEA Iloilo Team also conducted Drug Awareness Symposium at Brgy. North Avancena, Molo Iloilo City. Lastly on April 11, 2019, PDEA Guimaras Team, distributed PDEA Komiks among tricycle drivers, motorbanca operators, business establishments and passengers at the Buenavista Guimaras Port. The different activities is part of PDEA’s anti-drug prevention campaign program designed to promote and enhance sharing of knowledge to the public. Komiks Kontra Droga Info Drive Ongoing in Provinces EARLIER TODAY: At around 10:30 AM of April 9, 2019, the PDEA Guimaras Team handed over PDEA Komiks to the tricycle drivers, motor banca operators and passengers at Jordan, Guimaras Port as part of the Drug Awareness Campaign in the Province. The PDEA Komiks, which are presently distributed nationwide, is a conceptualized tool where life stories of how people got hooked on illegal drugs and how they eventually overcame their addiction are depicted. Also, yesterday April 8, 2019, the Barangay Drug Clearing Team of PDEA Team Aklan paid a visit to Mayor Jeserel T. Templonuevo and MLGOO Rommel Tucol in the Municipality of Numancia, Aklan where a discussion on how to strengthen the BDCP and planning of the conduct of reorientation to comply with parameters were tackled. Likewise, copies of the PDEA Comics were distributed to the staff and members of the Municipal Anti- Drug Abuse Council during the said visit. Clean-Up Drive for “Love Boracay” Sustainability Week Kicks Off in Malay The PDEA-Aklan Provincial Office headed by IA V Christina D. Cabatingan, Provincial Officer together with her team joined the Clean-Up Drive in Bolabog Beach, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan last April 27, 2019 at 6:00 in the morning, as part of the week-long event in the Island from April 26 - May 1, 2019. Dubbed as “Love Boracay: Celebrate, Rehabilitate” sustainability week, the program has the objective of promoting sustainable tourism practices and generate support from various stakeholders for the Island’s rehabilitation. Present during the said activity were Provincial Director of DILG, MLGOO Malay and Planeteer Antoinette Taus. The environment-friendly activities being conducted is in celebration of the rehabilitation of the island as Boracay marks the first anniversary of its April 26 closure. PDEA 6 HULI WEEK 2019 Airport and Seaport Interdiction Teams Conduct Thorough Sweep in Ports of Entry as Oplan “Huli Week” Concludes At around 9:30 AM today, April 16, 2019, the PDEA Negros Occidental Provincial Office conducted sweeping operations at BREDCO Port located at Brgy. 10 Bacolod City, while the PDEA RO-6 Airport and Seaport Interdiction Teams together with PDEA Team Iloilo and other members of the SIDITG-6 conducted random check and distribution of PDEA Comics at Dumangas Port located at Brgy. Sapaw, Dumangas, Iloilo. Also at around 4:30 in the morning, the PDEA Airport Interdiction Team conducted random check operation at the Iloilo International Airport located at Cabatuan, Iloilo. At around 11:30 AM earlier today, the PDEA NOPO also conducted paneling and inspection at the Bacolod- Silay Airport, while the PDEA Iloilo Team conducted Drug-Free Workplace Orientation among drivers, conductors, dispatchers and employees at the Ceres Terminal Brgy. Buhang, Jaro, Iloilo City. The sweeping operation was in conclusion of the Oplan “Huli Week” which kicked off yesterday, April 15, 2019 at different bus terminals in Bacolod and Iloilo where 368 tested negative on illegal drugs. PDEA advocacy materials were also distributed to the riding public. The ongoing interdiction efforts is also in line with the tightened security along ports of entry in Western Visayas to ensure non-entry of illegal drugs in the region. PDEA 6 Interdiction Activities PDEA-6 K9 Unit to Strengthen Interdiction Efforts in Bacolod-Silay Airport The PDEA Negros Occidental Provincial Office together with the Interdiction Team and K9 Unit paid a courtesy call to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Office of Bacolod- Silay Airport yesterday, April 16, 2019. CAAP personnel identified possible locations for the PDEA Narcotics Detection Dogs within the airport premises to conduct sweeping inspections. Restricted Area Access Badges (RAAB access passes) shall be issued to PDEA once the requirements has been complied with. Meanwhile, on the same date in Iloilo City, other members of PDEA-6 Airport and Seaport Interdiction Teams, conducted random check and distribution of PDEA Comics at the Fast Craft Terminal located at Lapuz, Iloilo City. PDEA 6 Balay Silangan PDEA WV Chief Shares Balay Silangan's Recovery Program Insights At 9:00 AM of April 23, 2019, PDEA Western Visayas Chief Alex M. Tablate, Officer-Charge, conducted interactive discussion with the pusher-surrenderers at the Balay Silangan Reformation Center, Tapaz Capiz together with the Local Government Unit of Tapaz (PWD Federation & Tapaz Security Task Force). OIC Tablate, after thorough discussion on the ill effects of drugs and salient provisions of the anti-drug law, engaged the pusher-surrenderers to an interactive exchange which resulted to their stronger desire towards genuine recovery. Balay Silangan Opens Up in Tapaz, Capiz and Passi City On April 22, 2019, the PDEA VI Balay Silangan Team together with BJMP, who took charge of the psychological screening of the enrollees began the implementation of the Balay Silangan Program which also marked the first day of the pusher-surrenderers in their new home in Tapaz, Capiz. Meanwhile in Passi City, psychological screening and signing of waiver for the surrenderers were done as part of the initial requirement for enrolment in the Balay Silangan Reformation Center. The BJMP VI Psychological Screening Team with the cooperation of both Mayor Jesry Palmares (Passi City) and Mayor Roberto Palomar (Tapaz Capiz) were also present during the simultaneous implementation of the program. PDEA-6 Balay Silangan Team Convenes with DOLE With the pilot site in Capiz about to be fully operational starting April 22, 2019, PDEA-6 Chief Admin. Officer Ms. Gretchen Bo-peep G. Giner, at the same time the focal person of Balay Silangan met with DOLE, Provincial Director, Division Chiefs and Labor Relations lawyer to speak about the frequent concerns of the pusher-surrenderers subject for enrollment to Balay Silangan, particularly the assurance that they can still have a job to come back to after the mandatory inhouse program. PDEA was also invited to talk about the concept of Balay Silangan during the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council Meeting where private, public and government companies will be present. Also, April 16, 2019, the PDEA Balay Silangan Team visited Passi City where pusher-surrenderers were screened prior to their enrollment in the facility. PDEA 6 Barangay Drug Clearing Program PDEA Team Iloilo Commences BDCP Onsite Validation for 15th ROC The PDEA-6 Iloilo Provincial Office under the direct supervision of Investigation Agent Nicolas C. Gomez, together with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) represented by Celfa Surmion conducted onsite validation of the 53 barangays of the Municipality of Lambunao held last April 15-16, 2019 at the New Lambunao Gym. Present during the activity were Mayor Jason R. Gonzales of the Municipality of Lambunao, Dr. Ma. Mercedes P. Ballarta (MHO), Mrs. Imelda Lopez (MSWDO), Mrs. Irene Salazar (MLGOO) and PMAJ Rene G. Obregon Jr., Acting Chief of Police of Lambunao, as well as the different BADAC members. Also, on April 15, 2019 at around 9:30 AM, the PDEA Iloilo Team was among the guests during the Municipality of Leganes Graduation Ceremony of the Community Based Drug Rehabilitation Program for the Person Who Used Drugs (PWUDs) who are now Recovering Drug Dependents (RDD). PDEA congratulated the graduates and motivated them towards becoming better and significant members of the society. PDEA-NOPO Conducts Brgy. Drug Clearing On-site Validation in Bago City Last April 26, 2019, at 1:30 in the afternoon, the PDEA Negros Occidental Provincial Office, represented by Investigation Agent III Melissa J. Montesa together with representatives from PNP, CHO, CSWDO and DILG together with Mayor Nicholas M. Yulo of Bago City conducted an on-site validation of Barangay Caridad and Barangay Ilijan.
