The first recorded match however was played many years earlier. It was between the “Eleven Blues” and the “Eleven Reds” on April 7th, 1874 at Bendigo. Since then the VWCA has grown to over 45 teams competing in the metropolitan area and in Ballarat, Gisborne and Geelong. Victoria is the largest women’s cricket state in Australia. The VWCA competition is divided into five grades with two of those divided into geographical zones. Junior Girls Cricket Cricket Victoria State Championships The State Championship Program continues to grow each year and offer young cricketers a tournament to develop their skills, experience the enjoyment of the game and represent their region.
