Visual Arts Studio Walk-Through (2 Parts) The Visual Arts students invite you to come check out their works-in-progress out at the Bradley Aaron: “Southern Culture in Focus” art studios. We will meet at Trieschmann porch and walk over as a group. We will explore a local cultural preservation effort by photographer, community historian, and southern music promoter, Matt White. Matt has been working to promote Volleybonk traditional musicians in Arkansas and beyond and has created a visual record of the Is it Soccer? Is it Volleyball? Is it Tennis? Come to the outdoor tennis courts and learn this people in places that produce the music of the South. Social sciences instructor Brad new legendary game. No rackets or experience necessary. Aaron will facilitate an open dialogue between Matt and the audience that will highlight some of the key concepts and practices of cultural preservation. Lars Seme: “The Mathematics of the Casino” Now that you've experienced Casino Night, we will talk about the mathematics that Whitney Barringer: “Empathy: Its Necessity and Its Cost” underlies each of the common casino games. Is there a way to beat the odds? Hint: A walk through the history of empathy, how it functions in the modern world, and what Caesars' Palace, in Las Vegas--a desert--is famous for its fountains.
