He is scheduled to arrive at 4:34p.m. MDT on Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 108.) MISSOULA-- Syndicated columnist Art Buchwald wi II present a free pub I ic lecture entitled "I Never Danced at the White House" at 8 p.m. Thursday (Apri I 18) in the University Center Ballroom at the University of Montana. The program is sponsored by the Program Counci I of the Associated Students of UM. A public reception for Buchwald wi I I follow the lecture. The reception wi I I be in the UC Montana Rooms. Buchwald's columns appear in more than 400 newspapers throughout the world. He also is author of a number of. books, including one which bears the title of Thursday's speech; "Getting High in GJvernment Ci rc Ies"; "The Estab I i shment is A I i ve and We I I in Washington"; "Have I Ever Lied to You?"; "Son of the Great Society," and " ••• And Then Told the President." A play by him, "Sheep on the Runway," opened on Broadway in January of 1970 and later in Washington. After attending the University of Southern California, where he was managing editor of the col lege humor magazine, columnist for the school paper and author of a variety show, Buchwald went to Paris and afterwards got a job on "Variety." With his trial column, "Paris After Dark," Buchwald obtained a job with the European edition of The New York Herald Tribune in 1949. By 1952 his column, then cal led "Europe's Lighter Side," was syndicated by the American press. A decade later he moved to Washington, D.C., where he now works. #II# .
