Box 1870 Spotsylvania, VA. 22553 2016 Omicron Alpha Lambda Scholarship Application Guidelines The Omicron Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha® Fraternity, Inc. will award $1,500 scholarships to graduating seniors in the Rappahannock area in four categories: The Dr. Phillip Y Wyatt Scholarship which is based on academic performance and financial need, The Emory T. Turner Scholarship which is based on academic and athletic performance, The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship which is based on academic performance and community service involvement; and The Walter P. Richardson Scholarship which awarded at the discretion of the Chapter members. To apply, interested seniors must submit a completed application form (attached) along with the information listed below with a postmark no later than 14 April 2016: (1) A copy of your high school transcript. Note that a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 is required. (2) At least two letters of recommendation; one from a member of your high school faculty, and the other from a prominent individual in your community. (3) A copy of an acceptance letter from a college or university (if available). (4) If applying for the Emory T. Turner Scholarship, also include a list of athletic honors, and no more than 2 pages of supporting material (e.g., newspaper clippings, copies of certificates, etc.) (5) If applying for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship, also include a list of the community service activities in which you have been involved.
