City of Countryside Summer Concert Series - “Fire and Ice!” June 9th “Fire” Concert: First Band Johnny Russler & The Beach Bum Band / Website: www.beachbumband.com Bio: Johnny Russler & the Beach Bum Band combine the tropical sounds of Caribbean rock, reggae, and calypso with songs by Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Paul Simon, Sublime, Jerry Jeff Walker, Zac Brown Band and many more into a musical blender to create a strong concoction direct from the lower latitudes! Johnny Russler, Countryside native, and his Beach Bum Band have performed with Jimmy Buffett, so expect them to bring the “heat” and a “Volcano” of fun! Second Band: The Barefoot Hawaiian / Website: www.barefoothawaiian.com Bio: Bringing the Hawaiian Islands to the Midwest and the Mainland for more than 40 years, The Barefoot Hawaiian is the most complete source and the largest provider of anything Hawaiian, Tahitian, and Polynesian in the entire Chicago area and covers the Mainland with its world-class entertainment. The night is complete with their one-of-a kind fire dancers! June 16th “Ice” Concert: Opener: Timeless Bio: Timeless, formerly the Saracens, was named one of the top three rock bands in the western suburbs by Suburban Life in 1967. The band has reunited and continue to play and entertain fans throughout the Western Suburbs. Headliner: The Blooze Brothers / Website: www.bloozebrothers.com Bio: The Blooze Brothers are one of Chicago’s most sought after and best loved tribute bands. This high- powered, choreographed 11-piece show band covers music from the 40’s to today: Motown, Soul, R & B, Classic Rock, Swing and of course, music and the crazy antics of the famous original Blues Brothers. They are as truly as cool as “ice”! June 23rd “Fire” Concert: Opener: Prairie Brass Band / Website: www.prairiebrass.org Bio: Prairie Bass Band is a not-for-profit performing arts organization which aspires to the highest musical standards and is dedicated to the growth of the brass band movement in the Chicago area. The Prairie Brass Band of 30 plus members uses traditional British brass band instrumentation to stand out from the musical norm. Headliner: Second Hand Soul Band / Website: www.secondhandsoulband.com Bio: Motown, Soul, Rock & Roll are exactly the sound that defines this Chicago band. Second Hand Soul Band takes you back to the days when all that mattered was meeting your friends and an all-night dance party! This energetic, dynamic, seven-piece band has many years of experience and really knows how to entertain! Between the funky hits of the 70s, the one-hit wonders, the disco and the soulful songs of that era, you will be moved to dance and sing! They are too “hot” to handle! They are creative interpreters of the Great American Songbook that can captivate listeners and engage them in memorable music from the Big Band era to the Beatles and beyond! Headliner: Fool House Band / Website: www.foolhouseband.com Bio: Fool House Band is a cover band playing pop hits from the 90’s as well as various top 40’s and other timeless classics. Between the mullets, their laid back style, choreographed dance moves, and foolish humor, they strive to create the ultimate party any time they take the stage. The name of the band speaks for itself, reminiscing all the party throwbacks from the 90’s….”Ice, Ice Baby”! July 7th “Fire” Concert: Opener: Soundz of Time / Website: www.soundzoftime.com Bio: The Soundz of Time is a vocal entertainment duo who performs at a variety of venues in the Chicagoland area. They perform all of the hits ranging from 1940’s swing, smooth jazz, oldies, country, classic rock, latin rock, along with hits from the 70’s and 80’s. Headliner: The Special Consensus / Website: specialc.com Bio: The Special Consensus is a four person acoustic bluegrass band that began in the Midwest in the spring of 1975, and began touring nationally in 1984. The band’s repertoire features original compositions by band members and professional songwriters (such as "Dusk 'Til Dawn" and "Margarita Breakdown"). The repertoire also includes traditional bluegrass standards (songs by Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, etc.) and songs by artists from other musical genres (such as "Blue Skies" by Irving Berlin). As a result of this musical diversity, The Special Consensus has performed at the most traditional bluegrass festivals and has also been the band to bridge the gap between traditional and progressive bands at more diverse festivals and fairs. With this band, you will certainly catch the Bluegrass “fever”! July 21st “Ice” Concert: Opener: Lincoln Don’t Lie / Website: www.lincolndontlie.com Bio: Lincoln Don’t Lie performs today’s top 40 modern country music and adds their own unique spin by creating “country-fied” versions of pop and alternative tunes. Lincoln Don't Lie brings the best of country music entertainment to you with powerhouse lead vocals, live instrumentation, and solid harmonies. Headliner: Strung Out Band / Website: www.strungoutband.com Bio: Strung Out is Chicago’s most unique classic rock band. Their dynamic blend of guitars, cello, violin, keyboards, bass, and percussion, topped off with outstanding vocalists, create an unforgettable sound. The greatest Classic Rock, Pop, Southern Rock, AM/FM Radio Cuts, and everything in between. The artists that defined a generation... and as a special bonus, the bassist is a Countryside native! This is night you won’t want to miss, they are so “cool”, it will be snowing in Countryside! July 28th “Fire” Concert: Opener: Diva Montell / Website: www.divamontell.com Bio: Diva, a trained opera singer, is a Chicago area vocalist, and has spent her entire life as an entertainer. Versatility best describes her - from Sarah Brightman, Celine Dion, Donna Summer, Whitney Houston, all the way to Ann Wilson, she covers them all! Headliner: Shout Out / Website: www.chicago-bands.com/band/shout-out Bio: Shout Out is new member of the Maggie Speaks family, a well-known Chicago band that is the “it” band on the Chicago scene, playing at nightclubs, charity events, weddings and festivals. They deliver the same high energy, non-stop performances that have become a trademark of all Maggie Speaks’ bands. More packed dance floors, more hands-in-the-air parties, more unforgettable parities, more corporate events that really feel like a celebration. This band had to be called Shout Out! This night is complete with a special fireworks show! August 4th “Ice” Concert: Opener: “Frozen” Princesses Elsa and Anna Sing along Bio: Princesses Elsa and Anna Disney from the Disney movie “Frozen” will take the stage and sing all their hits from the movie, including “Let it Go!”. We encourage all the little princesses to wear any princess dress and come sing and dance with them! Headliner: Cowboy Jukebox / Website: www.cowboyjukeboxband.com Bio: Cowboy Jukebox specializes in covering the latest hits in country music, and some of your older favorites…this band covers it all! With their strong male and female vocalists, they play it all and you will be singing along from your seats…or on your feet! If you love country music, then you will love this band! .
