AUGUST 17-23, 2017 FACEBOOK.COM/WHATZUPFORTWAYNE • WWW.WHATZUP.COM 2 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- www.whatzup.com -------------------------------------------------------------August 17, 2017 whatzup Volume 22, Number 3 f there was ever an issue of whatzup that perfectly exemplified just how much there is to do in our little corner of Indiana, this week’s issue – our Kat I third issue into the first month of our 22nd year – is it. Bowser This week we feature one of the summer’s premiere events, Taste of the Arts (see Michele DeVinney’s cover story on page 4); a sweetly nostalgic pop Live at extravaganza (the Happy Together Tour on page 6); an axe-shredding cat- Don Hall’s scratchin’ rock show (Ted Nugent on page 8); and some of the most acerbic Guesthouse comedy styling on the scene today (Doug Stanhope on page 7). And that’s just the features; we’ve also got more rock nostalgia and soul stylings courtesy of Pop~rock~blues~Standards BritBeat, the Isley Brothers and The Soul Lounge, respectively (see Picks on Friday & Saturday, august 18-19 ~ 9pm-midnight page 14), and car buffs can read up on the downtown Auburn Cruise In (see 1313 W. Washington Center Rd., Fort Wayne (260) 489-2524 Fare Warning on page 23) and get their jonze going in anticipation of Auburn’s big Labor Day weekend festivities. That’s a whole lotta “what there is to do,” and we’re here to (1) inform you about it and (2) encourage you to go do it. If you don’t find something that flips your switch amongst all the aforementioned stuff, try digging through our Wednesday, August 23 | 5pm calendars and ads – you’re sure to find something. So when you find something you and yours want to do, just go do it. And while MIKAUTADZE you’re doing it, please do us one small favor and tell ’em whatzup sent you. watercolor We’d be grateful.
