Chaplain of Providence College HONORARY DEGREE RECIPIENTS DUANE BOULIGNY ’94 MANAGING DIRECTOR, LEVERAGED FINANCE, WELLS FARGO SECURITIES TRUSTEE EMERITUS DOCTOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION Duane Bouligny ’94 is a managing director in the Leveraged Finance group at Wells Fargo Securities and is based in San Francisco. He manages the specialized industries debt capital markets team, which structures and originates loan syndications and high-yield financings, primarily for the gaming industry. During his career at Wells Fargo Securities he also has managed teams covering the energy, forest products, and beverage industries. Bouligny served on the College’s Board of Trustees from 2011 to 2020 as a member of the Academic Affairs, Building and Property, and Student Affairs committees. Upon his retirement in June 2020, he was named trustee emeritus by the board. In November 2017, Bouligny and fellow trustee Andre Owens ’85 were co-chairs for the College’s inaugural Reflecting Forward: A Celebration of Multiculturalism and Diversity. It took place in the newly renovated Center at Moore Hall, a space designed to incorporate the College’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. In recognition of the generosity of Bouligny and his wife, Nancy, the Bouligny Lounge at the center was named in their honor. He also co-chaired the Reflecting Forward celebration in 2020 with Monica Womack ’91 and Owens. Generous benefactors to the College, the Boulignys established the Duane ’94 and Nancy Bouligny Scholarship Fund in 2011 to assist African-American and Asian-American students. Bouligny is equally generous with his time. He enjoys networking with students and serves on PC’s Career Education Advisory Committee and the PC School of Business Advisory Council. He has served as honorary chair of his Reunion Committee and was a panelist at a PC to Wall Street Breakfast event in 2019. A graduate of Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford, Conn., he said he was fortunate to be awarded the MLK Scholarship to attend Providence College, where he studied economics. Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 1998, he was an assistant vice president at Sumitomo Bank in San Francisco from 1997 to 1998 and, after completing a commercial banking training program, served as a relationship manager at NationsBank in Florida from 1994 to 1997. The Boulignys reside in Greenbrae, Calif., and are the parents of three: Julia (13), Cade (11), and Corrina (9). When the children are not in school in the San Francisco Bay Area, the family enjoys spending time in the mountains at their home in Lake Tahoe. Bouligny maintains his season tickets for men’s basketball, and the family watches games together whenever possible.
