Transpoesie 2015

Brussels, le 4 septembre 2015. TRANSPOESIE 2015 The international poetry festival TRANSPOESIE is being organised for the fifth consecutive year by EUNIC Brussels, the European Union National Institutes for Culture. It traditionally begins at the end of September, marking the European Day of Languages on 26 September. This year it is celebrating the 70th anniversary of UNESCO. Inspired by the successful and long-standing Poems on the Underground in London and its counterpart Wiersze w Metrze in Warsaw, Poland, TRANSPOESIE in Brussels is a unique public celebration of European cultural diversity and artistic expression. Over the past 4 years, 100 European poets have presented their poems in the framework of the project. This year, no fewer than 22 countries have joined together to offer the population of Brussels and Namur a selection of poems in their original languages (20 languages in total), with translations in French, Dutch and English.
