F. Skinner Margaret Floy Washburn John B. Watson Abraham Maslow Carl Rogers Jean Piaget William James G. The second paragraph needs to cover the researcher’s area of expertise, their research, their findings, and the significance of their findings. Be sure to cite your sources!! Example: Elizabeth Loftus was born on October 16, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and psychology with highest honors from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1966. She earned her MA in 1967 and Ph.D in 1970- both in mathematical psychology from Stanford University. Her research first focused on the organization of semantic information in long term memory, but she then accepted an assistant professorship at the University of Washington and began a new line of research into how memory works in real-world settings. She then focused her research on the topic of eyewitness testimony. Loftus developed the misinformation effect theory, which demonstrated that the memories of eyewitnesses are altered after being exposed to incorrect information about an event. The incorrect information could come from leading questions or other post-event information, for example by listening to someone else report what they had witnessed. Loftus proposed that the memory is highly malleable and open to suggestion. Loftus' early work on the effect inspired hundreds of follow-up studies examining different factors that could improve or worsen the accuracy of memories. Loftus has testified and advised courts about the nature of eyewitness memory. Loftus' work has resulted in stricter requirements for the use of recovered memories in trials and some states no longer allow prosecution based solely on recovered memory testimony. .
