Just did Leno Major Bud Lime tv campaign running now More US touring in Aug Robbie Robertson relays the story of “Falling” “Robbie Robertson‘s new single, ‘Fear of Falling,’ features a collaboration that su- pergroups are made from, thanks to contributions from fellow classic-rock veterans Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood. The song is the latest single off the one-time Band frontman’s latest solo album, How To Become Clairvoyant. Robertson says the track was inspired in large part by Clapton. “‘Fear of Falling’ really comes from Eric,” explains Robertson in a press release. “It comes from a life experience that he was telling me about that I, in turn, was then singing back to him. It comes from when we first started working on mu- sic together and we would sit down with just two guitars and start playing around.” The mid-tempo number features the two musicians trading vocals and guitar licks, with an assist on organ by Win- wood. Clapton’s influences are apparent throughout the song, both in the musicality and the lyrics. “We traded off the ideas until we felt like ‘we’ve really got something together here’,” notes Robertson. “So it was a real trade-off in all aspects of the song — in the vocals, the playing and the storytelling, everything.” In essence, the song is about hesitating to commit one’s heart to a new love. The lyrics express a strong magnetism to a woman but also center on the doubts that come with a new relationship. “She has a certain kind of thing / It’s called the mystery of desire / Keeps pulling on my heartstring / I’m like a man on a wire.” ‘Fear of Falling’ is a mellow song that’s simple, yet elegant. It’s a collaboration in the truest sense of the word, and the combination of talents blends exquisitely throughout the tune.” - Reprinted from UltimateClassicRock.com, 6/11 There are a handful of places for you to see Vanessa Carlton Vanessa Carlton’s new cd Rabbits On The Run was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studio and produced by Steve Osbourne (U2, B-52’s, Doves, KT Tunstall etc). Her first release on Razor and Tie, the album is her most honest and uncompromising of her career – the record she always wanted to make. Many of you saw her perform the lead single, “Carousel” as a duet with Stevie Nicks at Sunset Sessions this year in what was one of the highlights at this year’s weekend getaway. She has scanned just under 2 million CDs in the US, and has over 36 million views on YouTube. She will be appearing on The Tonight Show during the week of release plus con- firmed performance on Good Day New York on 6/21, and was just featured on NBC’s Talk Stoop. See her on these headlining dates: 6/20 NYC, 6/22 Vienna VA, 6/23 Philadelphia, 6/25 Boston, 6/26-29 NYC, 7/7 San Francisco, 7/8 Los Angeles, and also with Matchbox 20 in Temecula on 7/9 and Five For Fighting in Chicago on 7/22. The Owl Magazine hoots about Scattered Trees’ Sympathy “The Chicago based rock sextet Scattered Trees questions death and bereavement in their latest album Sympathy. The album’s matter of fact lyrics portray raw emotions. The most pervasive instrument on the record is Nate Eiesland’s voice, which lends an immense sense of sincer- ity to the music. On “Five Minutes” the lead vocalist sings, “I can’t relate / to what I say / cause I’m not myself.” His rich organic vocals are ubiquitous. Whether accompanied by synthesized piano melodies or the bubbly picking and strumming of a mandolin, Eiesland’s voice brings resolution to each tune. The melodic arrangements are at times upbeat with driving drums and distorted electric rhythm guitar, as in “Four Days Straight.” These sections are effectively juxtaposed against lyrics derived in pain and mourning in a way that has you grooving to the music and fighting back tears all at the same time. I am absolutely in love with this music. It is at once haunting and hopeful; I cannot help but internalize some of the pain, and yet I find myself listening over and over and loving every second of it. Support Scattered Trees and buy Sympathy...immediately.” - Re- printed from TheOwlMag.com Upcoming: 7/5: Dave Stewart “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head”... 7/11: John Hiatt “Damn This Town,” Joss Stone “Somehow” Listen to everything and find out more at www.rightarmresource.com as well as facebook.com/rightarmresource or twitter.com/rightarmjesse RIGHT ARM RESOURCE WEEKLY UPDATE - 6/15/11.
