NGLCC Names the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce as 2017 Excellence in Community Impact and Excellence in Programming Awards Recipient August 3, 2017 Milwaukee, WI– The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the business voice of the LGBT community, honored the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce with both the Excellence in Community Impact Award and the Excellence in Programming Award on August 3 at the 2017 International Business & Leadership Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Each year, the Excellence in Community Impact award recognizes chamber initiatives and programs that positively impact the larger community, not just constituents and member businesses. Such initiatives might pertain to economic impact, advocacy, or community development. The Excellence in Programming award recognizes chamber programs that provide significant value to member businesses, volunteers and/or partners, such as business and leadership development or member benefit programs. “I am extremely proud of the work that the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce has done to benefit the LGBT-owned businesses in their region,” said Justin Nelson, NGLCC Co- Founder & President. “This chamber is truly an outstanding example for the rest of our 47 local affiliate chambers across the nation.” “NGLCC affiliate chambers are beacons guiding and nurturing LGBT allied business communities,” said Sam McClure, NGLCC Senior Vice President. “Local chambers have a unique ability to impact the LGBT community and have a significant positive influence on the LGBT business equality movement. I am proud to recognize the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce for these achievements.” “The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce is honored to be receiving these two awards,” said Jason Rae, Executive Director of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce. “When our local LGBT businesses thrive, the LGBT community as a whole thrives. We are proud of the positive impact that our work and programs are having in the state. It is truly an honor to be recognized by the NGLCC, and we are grateful for their continued support as we continue to grow our impact and programs into the future.” Certifying LGBT Businesses.
