To vendors new and returning: Welcome. Whether you’ve been with us for 25 years or are considering joining us for the first time, we are happy you’re here. Each fall, we spend a few weeks editing and updating this handbook, making sure we are not just clear on our rules and policies, but also our culture, our vision, our community. As Portland grows and changes, the needs of our market vendors do as well. We have spent the last year diving into our organizational culture and how we can enable ourselves to better work alongside a diverse population of vendors and customers. It is an ongoing process and one that we hope will benefit not just our staff, vendors, and shoppers, but also our food system as a whole. While the nuts and bolts of our handbook remain largely the same from 2017- Canopy weights! Stall fees! Sourcing requirements! – You’ll notice a few updates and clarifications. We want to stay current with what our vendors need to thrive in a quickly changing economic landscape and maintain our values of quality good food for all. This handbook aims to support a safe, fun, and sustainable market with policies that lead to success of our vendors. Please share it with your staff and encourage them to refer to it as questions arise. PFM staff is always happy to help and clarify. Thank you and welcome to our 2018 Vendor Handbook! Sincerely, Portland Farmers Market Staff Portland Farmers Market 2018 Vendor Handbook Page 2 Table of Contents ABOUT PORTLAND FARMERS MARKET
