MEDIA RELEASE NO FOREIGN ATM FEES Sydney, 20 February 2009

MEDIA RELEASE NO FOREIGN ATM FEES Sydney, 20 February 2009: Citibank will not charge its customers additional fees for withdrawing money from ‘other bank’ ATMs when the Reserve Bank of Australia’s reforms are introduced on 3 March. Citibank has entered into a partnership with Westpac to provide its customers with access to more than 1,700 fee free Westpac-branded ATMs Australia wide. In addition, Citibank customers’ foreign ATM transactions will not count towards their monthly fee free withdrawal limits in a bid to minimise the impact of ATM direct charging. “Citibank made this decision last June when the reforms were first flagged,” said Roy Gori, CEO of Citibank Australia, the consumer banking arm of Citi Australia. “As we have a limited number of ATMs around the country, it was necessary for us to find a solution that best suited our customers. This decision also ensures our Citibank Plus account continues to be one of the best value transaction accounts in the market.” -Ends- Media enquiries: Erin Campbell: T: (02) 8225 1658 M: 0438 285 152 [email protected] Kristen Kaus: T: (02) 8225 1631 M: 0421 380 773 [email protected] Notes to editors: Citibank Plus provides customers unlimited fee-free transactions1 including no Citi fees for the use of any ATM in Australia. A low monthly fee of $5.00 is waived when a customer credits their salary2. Terms and conditions apply and are available on request. 1. Unlimited free transactions excludes charges for bank cheques, international payments and foreign currency services, overdrafts, dishonours and other product services (outlined in Citibank’s Schedule of Fees and Charges). 2. To be eligible to have the monthly Account Keeping Fee ('Monthly Fee') waived a customer must organise an ongoing regular direct salary credit of $3,000 or more to their Citibank Plus Transaction Account. Cash advance fees on credit products will still apply. This fee is standard across all ATMs. A foreign currency conversion fee applies for use of overseas ATMs. Citi, the leading global financial services company, has some 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 100 countries, providing consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with a broad range of financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, and wealth management.
