Promoting excellence in science 2017 New Fellows 2017 50 new Fellows, 10 new Foreign Members and one new Honorary Fellow were elected to the Society in May 2017 for their exceptional contributions to science. Individuals were elected from across the UK and Ireland, including Bristol, Aberdeen, Lancaster, Reading and Swansea, along with those from international institutions in Japan and the USA. New Fellows were admitted in July 2017 at the Admissions Ceremony, during which they signed the Charter Book.
