Albert LEE 利雅博(b. 1953.9.24) Executive Producer, Distributor Lee was born in Hong Kong to a family from Xinhui, Guangdong. His father, Lee Ping-cheung, worked at the publicity department for various cinemas, such as the Lee Theatre; and founded Imperial Pictures in the 1960s, which distributed a number of British films. After his secondary school education, Lee went abroad to study Economics at the University of Wales in the UK. During this period, he also worked at the publicity department of EMI in London. He graduated in 1975 and returned to Hong Kong, working for The Star as reporter and for the Associated Press as well. In 1979, Lee joined Golden Communications Company Limited, a subsidiary of Golden Harvest (HK) Limited. He was responsible for the distribution of Golden Harvest’s films overseas and opened many new markets for the company. The first film that he distributed was Knockabout (1979). Lee became the executive vice-president of Golden Communications in the 1990s. In 1994, when Golden Harvest Entertainment Company Limited went public, Lee served as its executive director and general manager of the unlisted Golden Harvest. In 2000, he left Golden Harvest to work for Rock Records & Tapes in Taiwan. He became the chief executive officer of Emperor Motion Pictures in 2003, responsible for the production and distribution of films and television programmes and fostered co-productions between Hong Kong and the Mainland. He was credited as executive producer in The Twins Effect II (2004), Beast Stalker (2008), Aftershock (2010), If You Are the One II (2011) and Ip Man Final Fight (2013), etc. He became executive director of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society in November 2018. .
