International Day of Yoga 2019 International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 16, 2019, in Washington DC by the Washington Monument. The event was organized by the Indian Ambassador to the United States, Harsh Vardhan Shringla. It was a wonderful program. More than two thousand people participated from different communities, civil societies, and yoga groups. Numbers of news media highlighted the program. The yoga teacher, Mr. Moksesh, demonstrated numbers of yoga postures and meditation. Ananda Marga was represented by Ac. Dhruva, Devika, Ac. Abhiramananda Avt., and Sandeep Khanuja. Numbers of yoga groups distributed their visiting cards and flyers. TV Asia interviewed Ac. Abhiramananda Avt., and broadcasted the interview around the Globe. They met with the Ambassador and invited him to the Ananda Marga office. R. Sahas, organized a program on the occasion of International Yoga Day and invited Ananda Marga to attend. Ac. Rudrananda Avt. was the guest of honor in this program. Ambassador Sandeep Chakravorty, Consul General of India in New York, numbers of yoga organizations, non-profit organizations, and the civil society, and Indian-American professionals participated. It was a great program, and Dada Rudrananda delivered a lecture regarding spirituality and yoga in the field of society. More than three hundred people were understanding and introduced to Ananda Marga. Ambassador Chakravorty appreciated the work of Ananda Marga in the communities of New Jersey and New York. Rudrananda Avt. gave a talk about spirituality and yoga On June 20, 2019, the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations organized a major event in the General Assembly Hall at United Nations. More than one thousand people participated in the program. From Ananda Marga, Ac. Rudrananda Avt. and more than six Acaryas participated in the program. The Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, Syed Akbaruddin recognized the contribution of Ananda Marga. The uniform of Ananda Marga stood out in the United Nations. Numbers of news media highlighted the program. During the program, yoga teachers introduced yoga postures, meditation, and spirituality. Numbers of ambassadors of different countries of the world participated. Pamphlets of Ananda Marga were distributed amongst the crowd. The Ananda Marga presence in this program was a great achievement on the International Yoga Day. Ananda Marga Dadas are in the front row with other spiritual leaders and presenters from the program. On June 21, the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations organized Panel Discussion with the theme “Yoga for Climate Change.” This program was at a large conference hall at the UN. They invited Ananda Marga and other organizations working at the United Nations, New York, and all over the United States. More than eight Acaryas participated in the program. All the panelist focused on yoga, climate change, spirituality, and emphasized the importance of Yama and Niyama. Momentum has been created during the last two years by the different groups of yoga experts, professionals, and scholars. Ananda Marga has also contributed during the International Yoga Day, and last year, Ac. Rudrananda Avt. brought up the important role of Yama and Niyama for internal discipline and external discipline. The program was highlighted by the print media, electronic media, Facebook, and special United Nations Television around the Globe. After the program, the Dadas socialized and introduced themselves to the panelists, Ambassador of India, and different yoga groups. More than 250 people participated in the program. After the panel discussion at the UN was over, another program was organized by the interfaith group, World Yoga Community. Members of NGOs were present. UN Television highlighted the program. Ananda Marga presented spirituality, yoga, and wellness. Acarya Abhiramananda Avadhuta with Ambassador of Japan, his wife, and panel speaker Prof. Kusumita Pedersen The next program was conducted on June 22 at the Ananda Marga New York Sectorial Office at Flushing, New York. The president of the World Yoga Community, Guru Dileep ji, Margiis, and sympathizers participated. Ac. Rudrananda Avt. presented the role of yoga to establish spirituality and health. The program was sentient, and everyone appreciated the lecture and ideas of Dada and Ananda Marga. The June 23 program in New Jersey was organized by the Consulate General of India. Ananda Marga was amongst one of the thirty organizations that participated. A big crowd was there, more than two thousand people. Different social media and electronic media highlighted the program. A number of TV Stations took interviews with Ac. Rudrananda Avt. International Yoga Day Program at White Plains, New York on June 22 .
