Big-Hearted BT Staff Line up to Take Your Sport Relief Calls in Dundee

Zoe Ball preparing for this year's BT Sport Relief Challenge Mar 22, 2018 10:00 GMT Big-hearted BT staff line up to take your Sport Relief calls in Dundee If you’re planning to donate money to Sport Relief during Friday’s telethon, there’s a sporting chance your call might be answered in Dundee. Around 100 big-hearted BT and EE staff are turning their offices at Telephone House in Ward Road into a Sport Relief pledge centre, taking it in turns to answer calls after giving up their Friday evening. They’ll be joined by Scottish Rugby players Stuart McInally and Jamie Farndale during the evening, as well as BT and EE cyclists arriving at the final stop of a 480-mile Sport Relief journey which began in Liverpool on Monday. A host of fundraising activities are also planned on the night. BT’s Lois Brunton, who is helping to co-ordinate the activities, said: “As one of BT’s biggest contact centre operations, the team here in Dundee regularly supports telethons and staff have come up trumps once again. “The excitement around the office is building. It’s great that so many employees have given up their own time to get involved, and we’ve also been busy doing our own fundraising.” Dundee is one of five Sport Relief pledge centres being manned by BT Group volunteers on Friday night, and the only one in Scotland – the others are in Barlborough, Blackburn, Sheffield and Swansea. BT has supported Comic Relief – the charity behind Sport Relief – since it began in 1988, helping it to raise more than £1.1 billion. The company is once again supporting the BT Sport Relief Challenge, which this time has been tackled by Zoe Ball, who completed a gruelling five-day cycle ride. She follows in the footsteps of celebrities including Jo Brand, Davina McCall, John Bishop and David Walliams. About BT BT’s purpose is to use the power of communications to make a better world.
