We aim to reduce the disruption to people’s lives by providing early intervention, community support and education about psychosis to individuals, families / whānau. We also provide consultation, liaison and education about the experience of psychosis to other services in the community. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM OUR SERVICES: Maternal Mental Health is a service for expectant mothers or those up to one year following birth who are experiencing difficul- ties with mental health and/or addictions issues. “Maternal & Perinatal Mental Health's aim is to support women and family/whānau experiencing such difficulties to return to op- timum wellbeing”. Referrals are treated on a case by case basis. Star 1 Ward is for those adults who are experiencing a first presentation of moderate to severe mental distress after the age of 65. We have links with all other MH services and with the Supportlink assessment team. We also offer an older adult community nursing service providing as- sessments and follow up after discharge. Visiting hours: 2.00pm – 8.00pm.
