EGIS IN THE MIDDLE EAST OUR MANAGEMENT In 2019, 64% of the managed turnover of the Egis Group was generated outside France, of which 14% was delivered by the Middle East Business Unit. The Middle East region is one of the most important geographical areas for our Group, with the GCC countries providing a strong pipeline of projects. Two of Egis’ five largest projects awarded in 2019 are located in Saudi Arabia (the Green Riyadh and Amana projects). We are adamant on strengthening our efforts towards sustainable solutions, bring- ing Egis’ vast experience and methods tools to meet the region’s specific needs. Our portfolio in Middle East already includes many environmental projects, such as the rehabilitation of the lagoon in Qatar; waste management in Kuwait, Jordan, UAE and Lebanon, water desalination plants in Oman and Saudi Arabia, a wastewater treatment plant in Qatar, several urban across the GCC region, mentioned above Green Riyadh, one of the biggest city forestation projects in the world. Nael ALASHY Innovation & System Implementation Engineer Dubai 2019 – Inhabit (Hong Kong) joins Egis Founded in 2009, Inhabit is an engineering consultancy that specialises in providing design services to the building industry, more specifically in building envelopes and environment. Headquartered in Hong Kong, the company has nearly 300 employees, with its activities organised into three large geographic hubs: Asia, Australasia and Middle East/United Kingdom. 2017 – 10 DESIGN joins Egis In October 2017, Hong Kong based architectural firm, 10 DESIGN, joined Egis to form an integrated design group with a global capability. With a long established offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Edinburgh, Dubai and the City of Miami Beach, the firm works at a broad range of scales, from the design of individual buildings to cities across all sectors including corporate, retail, hospitality, residential, cultural and education. 2015 – Projacs joins Egis In July 2015, Projacs, the building project management and works supervision consultancy, joined our Group, thus substantially strengthening our influence all over the region. The acquisition of Projacs provides a new springboard for the development of our Group, which now has 1,200 employees in the region. Egis and Projacs pursue the same objectives: develop our activity in the Middle East and mutually enhance our service offers. 2013 – Helios joins Egis The acquisition was a strategic move, as the company looks to expand its portfolio of consult- ing and engineering services for airports, air traffic management and air operations. The team joins Egis main office in Dubai Silicon Oasis for further ease in business development. EGIS EXPERIENCE MIDDLE EAST AVIATION AMAALA AIRFIELD PROJECT KSA Amaala Company is designing and developing a transformative and unique tourism destination on the coast of the Red Sea. To enhance the luxury experience, the client is also developing an airport which will cater to domestic and international travelers. The airport, designed by Foster & Partners and Egis is set for completion in 2023 and will welcome over 1 mln passengers per year. Inspired by a desert mirage and dunes, the airport will be equipped with the newest technology, such as climate-controlled hangars, and others related to the facilitation process and passenger experience. CARGO EXPRESS VILLAGE AT BAHRAIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Bahrain The vast development of Bahrain, technological change and pursuit of innovation led Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) to develop two cargo-logistic areas at Bahrain International Airport (BIA): Cargo Express Village (north of the runway 12L-30R) and Cargo Logistics Center (southeast of the runway 12R-30L). Egis is covering the design and construction supervision of the CEV facility. SAUDI FUTURE AIRSPACE CONCEPT (SFAC) KSA The aim of the consultant in this project is to develop high-profile Air Navigation Service (ANS) strategy for Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS), a detailed integrated airspace and Communication, Navigation, Surveillance (CNS) / Air Traffic Management (ATM) masterplan covering the 15-year period, and the development of the airspace and procedures design for reference period 1 (RP1). Egis support- ed SANS with the development of the Request for Proposals, including the definition of scope and requirements for the consultant and later throughout the tendering process and bid evaluation. KING KHALID INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT KSA To enhance the quality of services and provide most pleasant passenger experience, Riyadh Airport, the client and project owner decided to improve the airside of the airport, including refurbishment of airfield signage and guidance lighting, aprons and jest blast fences, cargo zone, taxiway F and D, runways, terminals 3 and 4. For this purpose Riyadh Airport appointed Egis as the Project
