Institute for Mathematics and its Applications Career Options for Women in the Mathematical Sciences IMA Special Workshop March 3-5, 2013 Organizers: Georgia Benkart (University of Wisconsin-Madison) Erica Klampfl (Ford) Irina Mitrea (Temple University) Evelyn Sander (George Mason University) Cheri Shakiban (University of St. Thomas and IMA) Description: Aimed at graduate students and Ph.D.s in the early stages of their post-graduate careers, this workshop will connect women in the mathematical sciences with professional opportunities in academics, industry, and government labs. In addition, special panel discussions will cover the interviewing process, and the principles of negotiation. Speakers, panelists, and discussion leaders are women in research and management positions in industry and government labs as well as women in academia. Participants are encouraged to present a poster on their research. This workshop is sponsored by the IMA and the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM).
