There are 28 states represented in this list, and all but 10 counties in Utah are represented. Utah Valley is represented by eight communities. We are listing the Utah communities first, followed by an alphabetical listing of lettermen by state, followed by a listing of the 14 BYU lettermen from four foreign countries. Salt Lake City (34) and Provo (42) lead the list in terms of quantity of cagers who have lettered at BYU, while Cache Valley is unrepresented.Among the closest towns on this list to Cache Valley is Randolph, near Bear Lake, who is represented by World War II hero Dale Rex, for whom BYU’s Dale Rex Award is named. Can you plot on a map where Aurora, Axtell, Fayette, Fielding, Monroe and Rockville are in Utah? Aurora, Axtell and Monroe are near Richfield, Fayette is near Gunnison, Fielding is near Tremonton, and Rockville is just west of Zion’s National Park. Mesa, Ariz., is among the most prolific for BYU basketball lettermen out of state with seven players. There are 67 Californians on the list, compared to 193 Utahns on this list. Several brother combinations are represented: Ainge, Archibald, Astle, Cheesman, Christensen, Dixon, Durrant, Gourley, Hill, Jepsen, Knight, Law, Pollard, Reid, Roberts, Ruffner, Santiago and Steinke.
