Chrome Features Chrome Web Store - Themes Welcome to the Google Chrome for Mesa Public Schools video tutorial series. This tutorial is titled Chrome Features - Chrome Web Store: Themes and is intended to provide a brief overview of Themes in the Chrome Web Store. Chrome is not only a web browser, it is also a platform with its own app store, the Chrome Web Store. The Chrome Web Store can be accessed at any time from the menu bar at the bottom of the New Tab page. The Chrome Web Store provides access to three different types of downloads for Chrome: Apps, Extensions, and Themes. Be aware that not all Apps, Extensions, and Themes in the Chrome Web Store will work from within the district network. Care should be taken to ensure that all downloads from the Chrome Web Store comply with appropriate district policies. Also be aware that no support is provided by the district for downloads from the Chrome Web Store and that installing Themes in Google Chrome can have unintended side effects that can compromise your browser’s functionality and security. For this tutorial, we will be looking at Themes. Chrome Themes provide a means of personalizing your browser experiences. Themes can include images for your New Tab page, change the color scheme of the browser’s interface, and even add background images to the interface and tabs. To see the available Themes, open the Chrome Web Store. Select the section titled “Themes”. Subcategories will be displayed below the selection and the available themes for each category will be displayed in the window to the right. Click on a thumbnail for more details about a theme. To set the Theme, click on the “Choose Theme” button. The Theme will be downloaded and applied to your browser. To reset Google Chrome to the default, click on the icon to the right of the address bar, in the upper right-hand corner of the window, and select “Settings”.
