SLATS GILL HEAD COACHING CAREER • Gill Coliseum, Oregon State’s home arena, was offi cially named for him after his death. It opened in 1949 and was originally called the Oregon State Coliseum, though it was informally known as “the OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY house that Gill built.” YEAR OVERALL CONF. / FINISH POSTSEASON • A banner was unveiled in Gill Coliseum in 1997 signifying his number of wins (599). 1928-29 12-8 4-6 / 4th -- • Inducted into State of Oregon Hall of Fame in 1980, OSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1988 and Pac-10 1929-30 14-13 7-9 / 4th -- Hall of Honor in 2003. 1930-31 19-9 9-7 / 3rd -- • Served as president of the National Association of Basketball Coaches and coached in the 1964 1931-32 12-12 8-8 / 3rd -- NABC All-Star Game.
