15 November 2018 Jetstar Japan to launch Narita - Shimojishima new flight service from 30 March 2019! - Shimojishima in Okinawa will be a new destination for Narita Airport - Jetstar Japan will launch Narita=Shimojishima new flight service from 30 March 2019. Jetstar Japan operates from its Narita Airport Hub to 4 overseas destinations (Hong Kong, Taipei, Manila, and Shanghai), and 11 domestic destinations (Sapporo, Osaka (Kansai Airport), Takamatsu, Matsuyama, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki, Kagoshima and Naha). With the Narita=Kochi service commencing on 19 December, Jetstar Japan‘s domestic network will expand to 13 cities, more than any other airlines serving the domestic network at Narita Airport. Shimojishima is at the westernmost tip of the Miyako Islands in Okinawa prefecture. It is warm all year round and has many scenic locations including Tooriike Ponds, which has been designated as National Scenic Beauty and Natural Monument, and Sawada Beach has been named as one of Japan‘s Top 100 beaches. The beautiful seas are ideal for marine activities and it is a popular snorkeling and diving spot. The 3.5 kilometer Irabu Bridge links Shimojishima with Miyako Island and provides a great scenic view point for gazing at the radiant cobalt blue surface of the water below.
