In CSU’s pursuit for simple excellence, we highlighted this year’s accomplishment with an increase in the number of enrolment and a high level of performance in the licensure examination. CSU was top 3 in the Geodetic Engineering Licensure examination and top 7 in the July 2014 Forester Licensure Examination. Curricular program reviews were done to cope with the demands of the times apropos to ASEAN Integration and Globalization. CSU is constantly working for the accreditation of its different curricular program offerings. Our faculty members have also been trained both here and abroad in their field of expertise as graduate scholars, scholarship and grants recipients on short term courses. Relative to this, CSU also applied for accreditation to the Bureau of Immigration to admit foreign students in the university. To boot, CSU also achieved the Civil Service Commission’s Prime –HRM Level II accreditation. Conduct of multi-dimensional researches had been done, interspersed with seminars and trainings in proposal writing, research implementation and application of outputs through research presentation in the local, regional, national and international conferences. Additionally, CSU tied up and collaborated with national and international institutions and agencies on research and on other projects like the DOST-PCIEERD, PhilLIDAR 1 & 2 and Responsible Mining. CSU boost up a number of outreach programs as extension projects that empowered the rural communities to uphold and live a sustainable and humane environment. CSU supported the Regional Development Council and National Economic Development Authority’s Agent of Change advocacy. CSU tied up with the United Nations- Food Administration Organization (UN-FAO) on Disaster Risk Reduction scheme and climate change mitigation. Foremost, it stood behind President Aquino’s campaign on climate change adaptation and mitigation. CSU strengthened the presence of the alumni as the soul of the university. It has pointed out the importance of culture and arts. Withal, we have put to life Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) and CSU as regional center of excellence. CSU has still a lot more to do and to work for, rest assured that our journey aimed for simple excellence. Join us with enough fervor in our quest for the true and the good; every kind of excellence need some polish. Anthony M.
