Voter Turnout Final voting numbers are still being tallied, but Indiana saw a record number of early voters with more than 1.5 million casting an early ballot headed into the weekend before the election. To put that in perspective, 2.8 million voters in total voted in the 2016 election. Several counties have indicated that it may be days before they are able to count all the ballots. The summary below is based on information available as of the time of publication. Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb (R) was re-elected to another four-year term. With 85% of precincts reporting, the current tally is Holcomb with 57.7%, followed by former health commissioner Woody Myers (D) with 30% and Donald Rainwater (L) with 12.3%. Attorney General Race In the attorney general race, Todd Rokita, former Indiana secretary of state and congressman, beat Jonathan Weinzapfel, former state legislator and mayor of Evansville, 61.5% - 38.5%. Indiana Congressional Races All nine of Indiana’s congressional seats were up for election in 2020. Two seats opened up when long-time First District Congressman Pete Visclosky (D) opted not to run for re-election after 36 years of service, and Fifth District Congresswoman Susan Brooks (R) opted not to run for a fifth term. The Fifth District saw contested primaries for both Republicans and Democrats, which eventually saw Victoria Spartz (R) and Christina Hale (D) winning their respective nominations. Since that time, both candidates and outside groups have spent $18.5 million on this race. Spartz currently leads with 187,423 votes to Hale's 165,784. So far, 89% of the precincts are reporting, but the margin may be too much for Hale to overcome. Hamilton County, which has the most population in the district, announced late on Tuesday that 30,000 ballots had yet to be counted. Below is a list of all congressional seats.
