SREE NARAYANA CENTRAL SCHOOL, NEDUNGOLAM School Annual Report – 2019-20 Good Afternoon Everybody, I feel honoured to extend a hearty welcome to our distinguished Chief Guests of today‟s function Sri. Kalabhavan Jayakumar and Sri. Muhamma Prasad, renowned Cine and Mimicry artist and Chairman of Sree Narayana Central School Dr. K. Jyothi. It is my privilege and pleasure to welcome the Secretary Sri. S. Muraleedharan, the executive members, PTA President Sri. Rageesh Kumar K I, PTA Executive members, Parent Community, invited guests, teachers and my beloved students. It is my customary duty to present before you a brief roundup of the current academic session 2019-20. We set standards and goals for ourselves and strive to achieve them - be it in the area of academics, sports, discipline, leadership and more. Excellence in academics is the hallmarks of any good institution and Class X and XII results of the school prove without any doubt that our students have made us proud with 100% result. Kum. Punya S & Mast. Arjun J were the toppers of Class XII with 87% and Kum. Chandana Majin & Kum. Sara Sherief were the toppers of Class X with 95.20%. As a regular practice followed every year this session began with the orientation programme for the parents of the students of classes pre-primary to XII. The programme made the parents aware of the scheme of education we impart here at our school. With the sole purpose of updating teacher‟s knowledge, the school hosted a series of teachers Orientation Programme. It was an attempt which inclusively engulfed various significant aspects like moral values, life skills by CBSE, Methodology of teaching subjects, class control & management, Correction & its importance. In keeping with the school‟s policy of continuous upgradation of knowledge and skills our teachers attended various workshops and seminars organised by CBSE and others so as to improve their academic transaction skills and to update their capabilities. As the previous years, we are making our students take the first taste of democracy and leadership qualities through the ballot voting system in Student Council Elections. Elected members got their badges, pinned on investiture ceremony on 10th July 2019 by Dr. K. Jyothi, Chairman, SNCS. Various Co-curricular Activities are held under different clubs to develop a child physically, morally, socially and mentally and to have skills in co-scholastic areas. Regular club activities are held in which the students participate and display their caliber. Participation in various competitions held by different club itself is the biggest competition and infuse a healthy competitive spirit. Karate, Keyboard, Yoga & Dance special classes are arranged for students once in a week to bring out the inherent quality of a child in the field of arts for the development of cognitive and non-cognitive skills. Medicinal plants like Tulsi, Alovera, Money plant etc. in each classroom was grown marking the botanical name of each. 15th Global Hand washing Day Health & Students of Std. I & II were participated. October Wellness Club School Health Nurse gave an awareness class about the importance of Hand washing and personal hygiene for all classes. October World Food Day Health Club Chirakkara Grama Panchayath Chirakkara Grama Panchayath Health 16th Health workers & Anganwadi Workers & nearby Anganvadi Teachers Teachers of the locality were conducted a food exhibition on October 14th. The exhibited organic vegetables, so many medicinal plants and also food items cooked with organic vegetables etc. Awareness class to students from Std. VI to VIII by Mrs. Noorji, School & Anganwadi Cousellor of Chirakkara Grama Panchayath. October Vigilance Awareness Week Excise Dept. & Sri.Thajudeen Kutty, Awareness class against Drug Addiction, 29th Kerala Kaumudi Excise Commissioner, Kollam. Drawing competition was conducted and it was exhibited in the auditorium. Nov. 14 Children‟s Day Sri. K. K. Muraleedharan Sweets were distributed on behalf of the PTA Sri Regeesh Kumar K I Special Assembly conducted by Teachers. Nov. 14 & Kids Fest Sri. K. K. I & II students and the winners represented school to participate in Kids Fest Nov 21st School Science Science, SS, Maths, Dr. K. Jyothi, Chairman, Nearly 500 exhibits were displayed by students Exhibition Philately & Arts SNCS from Std. I to XII on various subjects. More than 60 still & Interschool Exhibition Complex & Our Former Chairman, ISRO working models were exhibited in secondary & School senior secondary section. Overall Champions – Senior Secondary Working – Sabarigiri English School, Anchal. Senior Secondary Still – RRV Central School, Kilimanoor. Secondary Working – TKM Centenery Public School, Karicode Secondary Still – Lord Krishna Public School, Paniyil, Chathannoor. Dec. 20th Ganith Week Mathematics Club A special assembly – Students arranged in various mathematical shapes. Programs like Speech, Dance, Song etc. Releasing of Maths Calendar, Maths Magazine. SPORTS Sports competitions inculcate the spirit of positive challenges and sportsmanship among the students and prepare them for the life ahead. Sports, games and physical fitness occupy a place of importance in our curriculum. Our students actively participated in different sports competitions and won medals, certificates and trophies. Games Week started from 21st October. Various competitions like Football, Kabaddi, Cricket, Net ball for girls and boys from III to XII. School Annual Sports Meet was conducted on 9th January 2020. SNES Secretary Sri. S. Muraleedharan hoisted the Sports flag and lighted the Olympic Torch. Various Competitions like running, jumping & throw events conducted under 5 categories. Prizes were distributed to the winners. OUTSIDE ACHIEVEMENTS-SPORTS Sept. 26 Kabaddi Cluster XI conducted at Bhavan's Munshi 11 boys participated Vidyashram, Trippunithura, Kochi October 24 Football Tournament – CMI Public School, Chalakudy 16 students participated and qualified for the quarter finals.
