Congratulations: Harker, Menlo, Crystal girls volleyball, Menlo & Notre Dame & Priory Tennis, SHP & Crystal boys & Castilleja & King’s girls cross country, Castilleja Golf on their league championships. i. Congratulations to League Winners b. CCS Issues: i. League Commissioners meeting in December – few items to vote on ii. 2nd Reading: Reinstate Bonus Points for Baseball – League Champion out of Section – Go Along with Terry at the League Meeting iii. Boys Tennis Proposal from the WBAL – doesn’t look like it will pass iv. 2nd Proposal – Override seeding points - Was currently override with example of Menlo Volleyball and Notre Dame Belmont v. Menlo had more points, but Menlo lost to Notre Dame Belmont twice. After the vote, NDB took the top seed V. Sport Committee Reports a. Girl’s Soccer i. PSI Officials were in attendance, discussed the use of multi Red Cards: Program Thing, not a player case…also discussed off-side ii. Foothill needs a chair person…decision up to the Athletic Directors…for CCS Meeting --- Frank is checking with his soccer coach to see if he can be the Coach Rep iii. No Bylaw Issues b. Boy’s Soccer i. PSI Officials in attendance – interpreting the rules is useful to have explanation from the officials…discussed the uniform issues ii. With PSI can directly to the assigner for games if their our issues with ref’s c. Girl’s Basketball i. JV Skyline only has 3 Teams…should it even be considered a league? Not a league but just more of a guarantee of games ii. Should we try to combine the Foothill and Skyline JV for next year? iii. Discussed Pinewood Student-Athletes Email about wanting to play JV Basketball d. Boy’s Basketball i. Voted: Weighted to change – not to vote on your own player…will try this year. ii. Crystal and Pinewood were new coaches e. Volleyball i. Mercy Burlingame moved to the Skyline ii. Notre Dame Belmont will be in the Foothill iii. Foothill: Menlo – SHP – Harker –NDB – Mercy SF – NDSJ – SHP iv. Skyline: CSUS – Pinewood – TKA – Castilleja – ECP – Priory – Mercy B. v. For Division 5 – it only has an 8 team bracket…need proposal from AD’s to have a 10 team bracket f. Girl’s Golf i. All-League Awards ii. Format Change – Proposal discussing the WBAL League Tournament 2/3rds Round Robin, 1/3 Tournament – All Approved 10-0 iii. Discussed the Castilleja no-show at the WBAL League Tournament iv. Range Finders – Retroactively: All Approved 10-0…Allow electronic devices at the CSS Tournaments (CCS doesn’t allow it bc it is not allowed at Nor Cals and States but now it is allowed). g. Girl’s Tennis i. Prior to the League Tournament…Majority of Skyline Coaches were not there ii. Pinewood would like to stay in the Foothill League…discussion with what division NDB should be placed in. iii. Foothill: Menlo – SHP – Castilleja – Harker – Pinewood – CSUS – NDB iv. Skyline –Mercy B. – Mercy SF – Priory – TKA – NDSJ v. Discussed the Harker Tennis Coach – Pinewood AD spoke about the many issues with the Harker Coach …coaching too long, not greeting opponents, not starting time vi. Discussed moving the Post-Season League Meeting for Tennis from the Thursday to the Monday before the WBAL tournament as it use to be…10AM meeting…This will be on the agenda for the Pre-season Tennis Meeting vii. Another Pre-Season Agenda Item: Move the tournament to Friday and Saturday rather then the current set-up of Monday and Tuesday h. Cross Country: i. Agenda Item: Pre-season meeting need to discuss the All-League Honors Guidelines ii. Recommendation from Coaches – A varsity Runner will be acknowledged as league MVP during the awards presentation at League Finals if they will all 3 League Races – want to acknowledge the MVPs - NO Motion, NO Vote…will not pass VI. Discussion of the All-League Honors: Having a Bylaw to have set guidelines with how many student-athletes will be award for first team, second team and honorable mention VII. Old Business VIII. New Business a. CCS Student Award criteria & method – Due date is February 1, 2016 i. Have One Male and One Female from each league as their Top Athlete – WBAL Needs to have a criteria – combining athleticism, academics and community service ii. Frank mentioned its challenging to have a criteria for the Boys side as majority of the boys programs play out of league and not within the WBAL…scholarship involved…essay involved iii. 1. Can we create our own criteria? Can need base be included in that? b. WBAL Basketball and Soccer i. Need to send Mike G. and Michael your coaches and AD information c. CSUS would like additional information regarding how you utilize your facilities with rental and allowing coaches to use the schools facilities d. TF Trials 9AM– Saturday May 7th – Senior Ceremony e. TF Finals 10AM– Saturday May 14th f. Lacrosse Girls Finals – Tuesday, May 17th – 7 PM Next Meeting January 20, 9:00am @ Harker .
