Kansas Children’s Research Network The Kansas Children’s Research Network (KanCRN) was established by the Council of Chief Academic Officers on May 17, 2000. Each of the public universities selected a faculty representative who is considered an expert on children’s research. KanCRN has nine members, and includes Amanda Golbeck, Director of Academic Affairs at the Kansas Board of Regents. Dr. Mabel Rice, University Distinguished Professor at the University of Kansas, is the convener and also serves as the Regents representative on the Kansas Children’s Cabinet. The objectives of KanCRN include: Providing direct access to research on children’s issues by publishing a central directory of university experts; Determining the most significant issues for children and families in Kansas, and providing research on these topics to policymakers in state government; Identifying university research needs and advocating for research support from private and public sectors.
